This is definitely something you don’t want to get lazy with if you plan on selling your home in the near future. If your home is already vacant, have someone tend to the yard regularly so that grass and weeds don’t detract from your home’s appearance.

Your home could be the most beautiful property on the block, but if you have some serious gutter and roof issues, home buyers will consider that a huge red flag.

Poor quality gutters can damage your foundation and could also lead to major drainage issues. Home buyers taking a tour of your home will get a terrible first impression of your home if there are gutters overflowing.  

Before you even think about putting your home on the market, make sure to get a thorough roof inspection and what needs to be repaired first. Even small roof cracks could cause water damage to ceilings and walls. If water starts to penetrate a property, it can be a very difficult sale. Water in basements or in homes is one of the top three things buyers are scared of.



Modern upgrades

You would be surprised how little it takes to totally transform a room into something trendier. No need to break the bank trying to modernize your home! Throw some neutral paint on the walls, swap carpet out for tile-wood floors, and brighten up the room with better lighting.

Little changes like that are pretty inexpensive and make all the difference! Even if you zoned more of your focus on the kitchen, or a few of the main rooms- this has been shown to sell homes faster and boost the value on your home!

As a homeowner it’s incredibly important to protect your investment. Did you know your home plumbing system makes up about 15 percent of your total home value!


Check for small leaks periodically, inspect and maintain your septic system, appliances, water pressure, etc. When you notice any issues get a plumber over to keep things running smoothly!
